I like having the options of putting my bike on a train or bus. Many times I want to travel to the other side of the metro area I live in and it is 28 miles one-way. I will ride bike to a rail station, which is 7 miles from my home, put my bike on the train to get near my destination and then use my bike get around.

Riding over 60 miles to complete this trip really is not all that feasible. Driving is something I do not want to do, so using a train works very well into the transportation picture.
