One of the ironies of living in a car obsessed world is that you still need a car seat for your kids, just in case you need to travel in a tin tank. As we use them but occasionally we sometimes lend them out to other people, as in this case.
The recepient was all set to drive 1 km over to pick it up, but a Bakfiets delivery was far faster, and gave me a great photo opportunity.

Excellent! I love seeing a car’s job being replaced by a bike.

Thanks Will… I enjoy the look on people’s faces when I do things like this: especially when I’m carrying something to big for a car to handle…

Hey, you should use the car seat in the Bakfiets for all rides, where you transport a child. Just as a persiflage to cars.
The seat looks like it was made for the Bakfiets.
Yes, short distances specially downtown are faster to go by bike. Allways!
And you are allowed to park the bike right in front of any shop. So is even good for people like me, who hate to walk.

Faster and more fun, but try telling people that…
Of course, with our kinds of bikes there’s a flip side: everyone in the village knows where I am if I ride there…

Hello Big Smile, good to see you here again…
I did think of that, but I can’t secure it down to it would be like a ejector seat if I brake hard, I did wonder about setting up a picture with a passenger though…

Yes, the seat should be secured in a save way, that’s true.
By the way, you have have some very interesting links on the left side.
I liked the “Low impact home” and “You’re going to build a what?” most.
The Low Impact Home looks really lovely!

We have some friends trying to do the same as the people on ‘Low impact Home’, and they know the Dale family, who built it. The Dale Family are now part of the Lammas project, and they’re building another home there.
I dream of making something similar for my family. There will be some developments on the blog soon…

Oh, I would love to do something this way, too.
I can’t convince my wife, yet.
But I will have a new topic on my blog about this topic the next few days, I think.
We will go a little step in this direction very soon.

I’m in the same situation… My own thinking is that we’re all going to be living more sustainably soon, so why not do it joyfully and creatively now?

So do I.
The need for sustainability will come much sooner, than most people think.
I is just a matter of time, until our whole economy will crash completely.
And will we do than, if did not learn to live that way.

Agreed. We will live more sustainably soon, and I want to do it joyfully and with creativity, rather than being pulled into it somehow.
