Ian: I hear you. It’s sometimes terrifying how much power a teacher can have over a pupil. I wonder if some of them even realise it?

Disgruntled: Oh, dear, I didn’t realise such places existed in the modern age. It’s not the gender of the students I had a problem with, more the creepiness of the teacher. (The students didn’t appreciate the attention either)

heh – you might have preferred our school where the girls simply did not do woodwork – we did needlework while the boys did woodwork (and to add insult to injury, they got an extra period off while we had an extra lesson). And no, I’m not that old!

Congratulations, Andy. Very pleased for you and I am sure that you are well up to the work ahead. I do feel for you when you mention your school. I had one particular maths teacher when I was in my teens who would bat me repeatedly across the head when I got something wrong…apart from the loss of brain cells, I’ve never been any good at maths. Luckily my next maths teacher was a railway enthusiast…but the damage was done.
Looking forward to the unfolding story of how you gain your qualification!
