Rather elegant, that barn. More Ikea than rusty galvo, but I like it. Presumably the overhanging eaves are to keep the snow and rain from gathering too close to the walls, or is it just a local style?

Hello Ian. It’s both: most buildings here have the big roof because we do get a lot of snow. Buildings here tend to be solid: The amount of snow we get here would crush ‘rusty galvo’…

I could afford to build one, could build one, had flat enough ground to build it on…. I do have the rock outcrop though so thats a good start!

Hi Tony. Are you experiencing Barn Envy? These barns tend to be fairly big which makes me think they’re probably shared amongst several farmers. The versions on hills are usually built into the hillside with two levels. If you are really unlucky I’ll take a photo of one sometime.
