I barely maintain that on flat ground… WITHOUT a bakfiets.

I’d like to claim I would: but you all know I’d be lying. Probably just as well I don’t have a speedometer on my bike: it would be embarassing.

I ditched the speedometers years ago. Not really interested in how fast I go anymore. I do sort of keep track of time. I know that certain places are so many minutes away, have to think about how many miles/kilometers the trip is. Only one of my bikes has an odometer on it, and that is one of those little ones with the clicker on the wheel. Only reason that is on there is because it is vintage and goes with the bike.

Mine died a death a few rainstorms ago, and I never bothered to replace it. I generally know how long I need to go to places and I know I’m slow. That’s as much as I need to know…
